Classical Celtic Replic Stone Flooring Creates a Little Piece of England

When Kevin Bevan decided to recreate a fabulous reproduction of a typical English country pub in his hometown of Cincinatti, Ohio USA, he didn’t do things by half measures!

The project needed solid foundations and Kevin knew exactly where to go to for the flooring for his pub –hard flooring experts, Classical Flagstones. Alongside our natural stone flooring, we produce specialist replica flagstones which create a really stunning and dramatic feel to a room. Kevin selected the Celtic flagstone, a majestic grey-black colour with an uneven but smooth surface which perfectly matches the style and period of the pub.!

Most traditional pubs have unique interiors which can be centuries old, wooden ceiling beams, stone floors, individual items of furniture, fireplaces, paintings, cushions and unusual bric-a-brac gathered over the years give these pubs so much of their charm and comfortable feel.!

Kevin has been true to this style, including the choice of stone flooring. Although today’s pubs may often have heavily patterned carpets ironically the more contemporary pub and wine bars have chosen stone flooring which is now seen as a new and very contemporary look. !

The Rovers Return, the Queen Vic and the Woolpack are amongst the most famous English pubs but of course are all fictitious. As yet Kevin has not given his pub a name but then it is only intended for private use for friends and family to gather and relax – how fantastic!!

Julian Palmer, General Manager at Classical Flagstones, commented: 'When we got the call from Mr Bevan we were intrigued with his plans it seemed such a huge task to create the look and feel of a traditional pub. But it was also going to be a logistic challenge to produce, supply and ship the large quantity of Celtic stone flooring, but thankfully it all went without a hitch. We were delighted to hear from Mr Bevan who told us he was absolutely thrilled and thanked us for working with him on his project. He also said that everyone who visits loves it and when we saw the photography we knew exactly why he was so pleased.'
